Thanksgiving is a great time to reflect on how good God has been to us—we have much to be grateful for as a people and as a church. God has provided for Parkview Church for 86 years, from our beginnings as a small gathering of believers in Coralville in 1932 to a church that has blessed 1000s of people through the preaching of God’s Word and unleashing servant leaders who have shared the Gospel.
For the past several years Parkview has celebrated Thanksgiving by taking a Thanksgiving offering—an offering from the Parkview family that is above and beyond our normal giving.
We are excited to join together for the 2018 Thanksgiving Offering to target four areas:
Faith Academy is a K-6 Christian school that was founded by Parkview in 2013. The school reaches out to students and families in one of the poorest areas of Johnson County. Through Faith Academy’s mission to make a rigorous
Parkview’s Global Worker Partnership Fund enables Parkview’s Global Outreach Team to deploy resources to meet needs that arise from our 40 Global Workers serving around the world. In the past, this fund has met the needs of a Christian Literacy Project for Bulgarian gypsy children, medical equipment and training for hospitals in Africa and transportation resources for an orphanage in Mexico.
The 2020 Vision Campaign was launched in June 2018. Through this campaign, Parkview is striving to pay off our recent purchases of property in Pepperwood Plaza that houses Faith Academy and our East Campus as well as the purchase of the former Heartland Community Church facility that now houses our North Campus. The 2020 Vision Campaign will also provide necessary repairs and improvements to the Central Campus so that the facility can continue to be a blessing to the community for years to come.
The Parkview Ministry Fund exists to enhance Parkview’s outreach locally and globally through our ministries. Through the generosity of God’s people, God has used the ministries of Parkview to extend the Gospel to thousands of people locally and around the world.
Psalm 136:1 says “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”
Will you and your family prayerfully consider what God would have you give above and beyond this year? Just as we have seen God do amazing things through Parkview over our 86-year history, we look forward to what He will do through your generosity in this coming year.
